Tonya of Tonya Joy Photography literally took my breath away today when she sent me this set of BRILLIANT images.
The title of the set was “surprise engagement photoshoot.” Three of my favorite words in one line? I was already intrigued. As I read on and saw the pictures of Cody Roe’s genius proposal to his girlfriend, Mallory Owens, I was completely speechless.
On that note, here is what Cody said about this epic plan:
“During the months leading up to December 11th, 2010, I was desperately trying to figure out a way I could cleverly propose to my girlfriend. I was in contact with Tonya asking her for inspiration on a proposal shoot. She was extremely generous in her help, and with me planned one of the most beautiful days of my life. Convincing my girlfriend that it was just another shoot, and long day of modeling was the easy part. The difficult part was figuring out how I was going to propose at a photo shoot!
We took amazing pictures around the Nixon Library in Yorba Linda for a couple of hours and then the moment came. Tonya stood me behind Mallory and “fixed my tie,” this is when she handed me the ring, and I got down on one knee. The sun was setting just beyond the palm trees and the weather was perfect. Tonya asked Mallory to turn and face me, and caught up in the moment I froze! Tonya swiftly motioned for me to propose and the most beautiful moment of my life happened. I am now engaged to my high school sweetheart, the most amazing woman in the world.”

The styling for the shoot was inspired by a vintage Valentine’s Day, Veronica Lake and old Hollywood glam. There were so many fantastic vendors that added special touches to the project to help create the sweetest, picture perfect scene.
